I spent many years teaching English to Foreign Students both on the Continent and in the UK before deciding that I needed a fresh challenge. A chance encounter with a team of massage therapists in a gym and far too many bumps, bruises, aches & pains got the ball rolling. After graduating from the London School of Sports Massage, I went on to qualify as an Osteopath & Naturopath from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine.
I now work primarily for the Light Practice both in Belgravia (London) and St. Albans, combining both Sports Massage and Osteopathic techniques with a Naturopathic outlook in my treatments.
The treatments involve a form of manual/ physical treatment (i.e. hands on), which can include massage (which may involve using cream or oil); gentle, rhythmical, rocking movements of the limbs & torso; mobilisation of joints; manipulation of joints (which may produce a ‘popping’ sound); assisted stretching; dietary; postural, life-style advice and work on the internal organs (viscera), if considered necessary.
In my other life, I am a senior lecturer at the North London School of Sports Massage (www.nlssm.com), was a competitive kick-boxer, dabbled in athletics and am a successful musician, having for many years played regularly in both mainland Europe and Britain on TV, radio, festivals and gigs with various artists but mainly the Ian Siegal Band (www.iansiegal.com). |
